STAND International has a long history of working with partners in Eastern Europe. These partners include Harmoniya in Ukraine, Nightingales in Romania, Georgian Youth for Europe in Georgia, and LYVS in Belarus and we have built many strong friendships in these organisations.
In light of the reports of the atrocities committed by Russian forces in Bucha, and elsewhere across the country, that commitment is stronger than ever.
We have previously demonstrated our long-term commitment to these partners through the STAND tartan, which includes the colours of the Ukrainian, Belarusian, Georgian, Romanian, and Ghanaian flags. Today, that commitment is stronger than ever.
Since the start of the war we’ve been keeping in close contact with our friends in Ukraine and we are offering support to them and their families however we can. Our thoughts are with them all as the horror of war has completely up-ended their lives.
We remain committed to working with all our partners to improve the lives of vulnerable people throughout Eastern Europe, and we will continue to offer our support to them in any way we can.
